Mike has chaired the Springfield Metropolitan Exposition and Auditorium Authority (SMEAA) board since 2005. Since 1997, he has served on that board which promotes economic growth for Springfield and Sangamon County. Mike knows that politician’s policies have a major impact on economic developments and public safety that impact the state. He understands when public policies are going to drive growth or be burdensome to businesses. Maintaining public safety is an important element of building a strong local economy.
Mike advocates for policies that will benefit the hard-working residents of Illinois. He knows the 95th District faces challenges due to poor policies, but he is determined to make a difference that will embrace economic growth. Mike knows that middle-class workers deserve better from their local government and his message is simple: create policies that keep our citizens in Illinois.
Mike is a small-business owner who owns the successful restaurant Papa Frank’s, in Springfield, which he opened in 2015. He knows what it takes to adopt policies that drive success and growth. He is actively engaged with the community and shares his expertise to other small-business owners and continues to support local business in Illinois.
Mike and his wife (Lori) have been happily married for over 30 years and have two daughters (Ali and Chloe) and one son (Frank). He also just welcomed his first grandson (Henry) into the world.
Mike plays a very important role in the General Assembly as he serves on committees that are most important to Illinois residents including Appropriation- Public Safety, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, & IT, Housing, Public Utilities, State Government Administration, and Veterans’ Affairs.
Most importantly, Mike is honored to serve the constituents of the 95th District. He is dedicated to utilizing services that provide help to everyone in his District and the state of Illinois.
